Description Juniper shrubs (Juniperus) provide the landscape with well defined structure and a fresh fragrance that few other shrubs can match. The care of juniper shrubbery is easy because they never need pruning to maintain their attractive shape and tolerate adverse conditions without complaint. Anyone interested in providing habitat for wildlife should consider growing junipers. The National Wildlife Federation counts juniper shrubs as one of the top 10 plants for wildlife because they provide an abundance of food, shelter from harsh weather, and nesting sites for birds. Product Delivery Information: The image displayed is indicative in nature. Actual product may vary in shape or design as per the availability. The number of leaves and the size of the plant depends on seasonal availability. Since flowers are seasonal in nature, flowering plants may be delivered without the bloom. Flowers, if present in plant, may be in fully bloomed, semi-bloomed or bud stage. Delivery will be attempted on the same day, but there may be a delay of 3-5 hours depending on the traffic and the weather. Our courier partners do not call prior to delivering an order, so we recommend that you provide an address at which someone will be present to receive the package. The delivery, once dispatched, cannot be redirected to any other address. Juniper plant’s Care Instructions: Soil: Juniper trees tolerates a wide range of soils, including clay, however prefer a well-drained sandy clay or loam. As with so many other ornamental plants, constantly soggy or wet soil can be problematic. So make sure to plant your Juniper in a well-drained site. Light: Juniper trees prefer as much sun as you can give them. At least 6 to 7 hours of direct sunlight per day is suggested. Fertilizer: Fertilize the juniper annually in early spring with a complete, slow-release fertilizer with a formulation such as 12-4-8 or 16-4-8. Spread the fertilizer evenly around the juniper at a rate of 1/2 pound per 100 square feet just before it rains or water it thoroughly after applying the fertilizer. Water: Water the juniper shrub in thoroughly at the time of planting and twice weekly for a month following planting. Decrease the frequency of watering so that you only irrigate the juniper once every week or two during periods of extended drought. Junipers are more likely to suffer from overwatering or diseases encouraged by excessive moisture than drought stress.
